Scorpio Full Moon: Identify the Shadow
Are you experiencing intense feelings, raw emotions, and an urge for shadow work and transformation? The current New Moon in Scorpio is urging us to continue the dive inward.
But what the hell does all that actually mean?
New moon in Scorpio means that the moon is currently in the Scorpio segment of the sky, and due to it being the new moon, there is much to unpack. New moons are dark, almost invisible, and they represent that which we would rather remain hidden. It’s a blank slate, and an opportunity to begin again.
Scorpio is a water sign, often perceived as the “darkest” of the water signs. Scorpio is sharp, witty, sexy, mysterious and charming. It is ruled by Pluto, the planet of sex, death, rebirth and transformation (that word again!). When the moon or a significant planet is stationed in Scorpio, it urges us toward the “darkness” we hide inside us.
Shadow work is the embodiment of our shame, fear, sadness, and other “negative” emotions for the purpose of accepting and making peace with them. There is no fixing or healing our shadow; it serves a purpose when we integrate it healthily into our lives. It has kept us safe but has also hindered us. It causes us to hesitate and doubt our abilities or others around us. It protects us from the bad, and the good.
If the full moon in pisces was the stage, this new moon is the lights and soundtrack. Let this energy encourage your own brutal honesty and find where you are holding yourself back. What shame are you holding onto? What are you afraid of the most? Where in your life can you afford to be more vulnerable? Use these questions to identify what you need to remove from your life, and then reflect on what you do want.
What is the most important thing to me right now? How is my shadow hindering me from achieving this? What is the core of the issue?
As this is also the middle of eclipse season, we still do not want to focus on manifestation. Instead, focus on implementing what you have learned about your shadow self and what steps you can take to thank them, and then push past them. This eclipse is stretching through March of 2025 (fitting, as March is Aries season and the start of the astrological new year), and that timing could not be more auspicious.
When you put all these things into conjunction, you get this: This new moon, and general time period, is a time for extreme change of the things we often keep hidden. The themes that began the week before the Pisces full moon will likely continue through this cycle. We have an opportunity to dig deep into the things that are holding us back, keeping us from healing, and preventing our growth. It is time to be honest with yourself and stop running for your shadow.
There is so much that can come in when we embody the darkness in us, and March of 2025 promises growth, beginnings and new identity.
Join us this New Moon (either in person or in spirit) on Wednesday October 3rd to integrate the shadow, transmute heavy emotions, and define the truths we want to live as we release what no longer serves us in the process. There is strength in community, and while you may have a journey ahead of you, you do not have to do it alone.

If and when you find yourself working through something heavy, use the time afterwards to give yourself some aftercare: have a sweet treat, a warm drink, journal, watch a comforting movie or call a friend. It’s important that while you are experiencing heavy emotions that you take care of yourself. The rest and recuperation is just as -if not more so- important as the hard work.
You are loved, you are whole. See you at the ceremony!
